SJPD Sergeant in Good Spirits After Being Shot in Head by Carjacking Suspect

A San Jose Police Department sergeant, who was shot in the head by a carjacking suspect during a multi-city shooting spree, has been released from the hospital and is in good spirits. After a pursuit that ended near San Pedro Square, the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Mohamed Husien, crashed into a patrol car and opened fire, injuring the sergeant before being killed by police. The incident began on January 17 when Husien allegedly stole a red Corvette and committed several armed robberies.
