12 Year Old NC Boy Fatally Shoots Home Intruder

A 12 year old North Carolina boy fatally shot an intruder that broke into his grandmothers home early Saturday morning.
According to reports the incident happened in Greensboro when two intruders broke into Linda Ellis,73 home.

One of the intruders were armed and demanded money from Ellis before shooting her.
The child then fired two rounds at the suspects striking one of them.
When officers arrived to the scene they found one of the suspects Khalil Herring,19 suffering from a gunshot wound, at an intersection near Ellis’s home.
And once inside the home they found Ellis also suffering from a gunshot wound.
Both were transported to a nearby hospital where Herring died from his injuries.
Ellis was treated for non life threatening injuries.
No criminal charges are expected to be filed against the 12 year old.
Authorities have given no details regarding the second intruder.
This investigation remains ongoing.
