13-Year-Old Boy Becomes Youngest Student At Georgia Tech Campus

13-year old Caleb Anderson became the youngest student on Georgia Tech campus Monday.

Caleb spent the last two years enrolled in a dual-enrollment program.
He completed his prerequisites at Chattahoochee Technical College.
Caleb has always been a very bright child.
He qualified for MENSA at the mere age of three.

He even raced through classes at Shreiner Academy when he was a toddler.
Anderson first set his eyes on Georgia Tech last year from it being close to home.
He immediately sparked the interest from its school president, Angel Cabrera.

For Caleb’s mom, Clair Anderson, she has the same worries as any other mom of a college student.
She also wants her son to know that it’s okay to fail.

The University System of Georgia waived its test score requirements for the Fall of 2021 due to Covid.

However, Caleb did face financial challenges.
He is too young to have access to any of the state’s merit -based educational scholarships.
However, Comedian and radio/tv host Steve Harvey offered to help pay for his education fees through his foundation.

“I am grateful for everything he’s done for me,” said Caleb.
Caleb will be taking 12 credits this semester.
He aims to get his bachelors in two or three years.
He also wants to get his Masters at Georgia Tech.

However, he plans on getting his doctorate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Georgia Tech has set up two students to mentor Caleb in the engineering program.

The president believes mentors, along with support from parents are critical for his age considering his academic path.
“There is no way you can do this on your own,” he expressed.
