A 14-year-old boy has been apprehended after being accused of killing Lily Peters,10. Her body was discovered on a walking trail in Wisconsin.

On Wednesday, the eighth grader appeared in court for the first time. The teen is said to be known by Lily’s family.

Prosecutors have said that the suspect had planned to rape and kill the girl from the very beginning.

Authorities say that the teen told them that he punched the girl in the stomach, struck her with a stick, made her fall to the ground, and choked her. He then sexually assaulted her before she died.

On Sunday night, Lily’s father had reported her missing in Chippewa Falls near Minneapolis. After visiting her aunt’s residence, the fourth grader never returned back home.

Later that evening, the girl’s bike was located in a wooded area, close to a walking trail by her aunt’s home.

On Monday morning, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Lily’s body was discovered in the woods next to the walking trail.

On Wednesday, the juvenile suspect’s cash bond was set at $1 million. He won’t be permitted to communicate with any other juvenile while he is held at a detention center.

The teen will appear in court again on May 5.
