A 16-year-old girl was killed, and authorities in Liberty County, Texas, are trying to determine the reason.
The teen’s body was discovered dumped next to a rural road, east of Plum Grove.
Detectives say that she was shot and killed and was wearing a restaurant uniform with a blue-colored “Niko’s” cap. It was reported that the teen was employed at the Niko Niko’s facility in Memorial.
Detectives are working to gather camera footage of the parking lot. The girl was last observed at the restaurant, on Saturday, close to 10:45 p.m.
Witnesses told police that the girl’s family came to get her, but she had sent them a message, stating that she was already gone with friends.
The following day, close to 8:30 a.m., Sunday, her body was discovered in Liberty County. A passerby had contacted authorities to say that they had observed her body on the side of CR 3550, close to CR 5708.
The unnamed teen is said to be from Guatemala but had been employed and residing in Houston.
