On Tuesday night, 19-year-old Mareon Robertson was fatally shot outside of an Arlington extended-stay motel.
Robertson is also known as the rapper, Grindhard Mack.
A couple called police and stated that they had picked up a man who had been shot. Emergency Medical Services then met them halfway to the hospital and took over.
Robertson was taken to a medical facility and went into surgery when he passed away. An autopsy is being conducted.
Authorities say that Robertson was shot outside of InTown Suites, in the 6000 block of South Cooper St. This happened around 6 p.m. Investigators believe that Robertson was shot after he got out of a car that he had only been inside of for a couple of minutes.
Police don’t think that this was a random incident but haven’t disclosed a motive for the killing.
No one has been apprehended in the matter, and an investigation is continuing.
