A 2 year old child was viciously attacked early Tuesday morning in a Dallas neighborhood.
Officers responded to an animal attack call on the 9200 block of Royalpine Drive around 8:28 a.m.
Upon arrival officers learned that the 2 year old was sitting on the front porch when a coyote came out of no where and attacked the child.
The officer spotted the coyote at a nearby park and fired shots at it. The coyote ran into a wooded area and it is unclear if it was struck.
The child was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The Game Warden along with authorities are working to locate the coyote. The animal is considered extremely dangerous.
