Three people have died and 11 have been wounded after a man shot into a crowd in Philadelphia. Authorities say that an officer shot his weapon, and it is thought that he injured the assailant.

The suspect was able to get away during the chaos that occurred during the incident.

On Saturday night, around 11:30 p.m., gunshots were heard in the 400 block of South Street, the nightlife part of the city. There, hundreds of people were assembled.

Those who were wounded were aged 17-to-69-years-old. 27-year-old Alexis Quinn, 34-year-old Gregory Jackson, and a 22-year-old man, who sources say is Kris Minners, were killed.

There is a possibility that the shooting may have happened after a physical fight happened between two men who were shooting at each other. One of those men died and another was wounded.

As officers were responding to the incident, they saw a man shooting into a crowd and shot at him. Several people had been hit. Police then shot at the unknown man several times, and he was believed to have been shot.

Authorities have been asking people with information about the incident to come forward. A $20,000 reward is being offered if an arrest is made.

Two semi-automatic handguns, one with an extended magazine, and several shell casings were located at the scene. Police say that at least five guns were fired during the occurrence.

Camera surveillance footage is being reviewed as an investigation continues.
