A 3-year-old child’s organs have helped save the lives of two other children and two adults.

Mars Bedell, a 3-year-old boy from Houston, died on July 5 after a drowning accident. His family made the decision to help others through the gracious life of Bedell.

“The only way that I could fathom to honor him to make him a superhero is to allow life to be given,” his mother said.

Last week, Bedell’s heart, liver, and both of his kidneys were transplanted into four different patients. The four individuals who received his organs, two children and two adults, are recovering well.
