A Louisiana mother accused of throwing her two young children over a bridge last year has been indicted by a grand jury.
Ureka Rochelle Black,33 from Shreveport allegedly threw her 10 month old and 5 year old son into a lake on September 24,2021.
Authorities arrived to the scene after receiving multiple calls regarding two young children floating in the lake.
The 10 month old was pronounced dead at the scene. The 5 year old was taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport hospital in critical condition.
A third child that was also thrown over the bridge was later found safe.
Police later found Black near the Texas/ Louisiana border. She was arrested and charged with second degree murder and attempted second degree murder.
If convicted Black faces life in prison.
