5 Year Old Boy Struck By 18 Wheeler While Getting Off School Bus

A 5 year old boy was struck by a 18 wheeler Tuesday afternoon while getting off a school boy in Elgin, Texas.
According to reports the school bus was at it’s designated stop dropping kids off when the 18 wheeler came from behind and struck the boy.
The driver stayed at the scene until Troopers arrived and told them that he didn’t see the bus stopped with its flashers and when he did see the bus he couldn’t brake in time so he swerved from hitting the bus and ended up striking the boy.
The child was transported to a nearby hospital by helicopter with non life threatening injuries.
State Troopers are investigating and no charges have been filed against the driver of the 18 wheeler.
