Authorities seized over 1,000 pounds of cocaine, worth more than $50 million. It was found in shipments of coffee bean bags being transported to a Nespresso factory in Switzerland.

On Monday, police responded to a call at the company’s facility in Romont. This was after workers found “an undetermined white substance while unloading bags of freshly delivered coffee beans.”

Authorities say that the employees had been taking bags off of five shipping containers that had derived from Brazil.

When officials tested the powdery substance, the results showed that it was 80% pure cocaine.

Reports note that the batches were separated, and the substance didn’t contaminate the production equipment. Nespresso has said that consuming their products isn’t harmful, and they have very strict guidelines for quality control for incoming products of green coffee.

Swiss police believe that the drug was probably headed toward Europe.
