Four boxes of long lashes were seized at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport on Tuesday.
In the boxes were 3,00 pair of false eyelashes that were discovered to be illegally imported from China. Furthermore, it was going to a local beauty supply store.
The boxes didn’t obtain approval from the FDA and no distributor’s information was located. Therefore, there is no way of knowing if it had been exposed to disease. It is also unknown if it was stored away correctly and kept away from insect-infected areas.
Fake eyelashes can be created with synthetics and are placed on using adhesive. Unregulated and hazardous ingredients could cause allergic reactions, eye irritations, and more.
