8 People Arrested And May Be Connected To More Than 50 ATM Thefts In The DFW Metroplex

Plano police investigators and SWAT officers arrested eight people in connection with a string of ATM burglaries throughout the DFW metroplex.

On June 1, around 6 a.m. officers arrested the suspects as they attempted to steal an ATM from a 7-Eleven on the 900 block of Fort Worth Drive in Denton, Texas.

Following the arrest Denton PD were notified and asked to assist in the investigation.

On May 25, 2023 Plano police responded to an ATM burglary call at a 7-Eleven on the 3600 block of 14th Street. During the burglary five unknown suspects backed a pickup truck into the front of the store smashing the window. They then wrapped a chain around the ATM and snatched it out the store.

The suspects then fled the scene and abandoned the truck in a nearby apartment complex.

While investigating that burglary authorities were able to put evidence together and determine specific methods that were used. They also discovered similar incidents throughout the metrolex

They then teamed up with detectives from Plano, Coppell, Dallas, Euless, Frisco, Grapevine, Garland and the Department of Public Safety as well as a 7-Eleven Asset Protection Manager which resulted in the arrest.

All eight individuals were arrested and charged with a 2nd degree felony theft of an automated teller machine less than $300,000. They are being held in the Denton County Jail. More charges are expected to be filed against the suspects.

Anthony Dewayne Turner, 29, Joseph George Milton Turner,29, Dominique Marquis Childress,27, Danaijay Jacoby Derrett,24, Marlon Briscoe, 24, Leroy Alvin Walls, 26, Louis Edward Coleman,27 and Cortaveya Jean Jackson,25 are the suspects in custody.
