Amy Morrell, 53, of Riverside, Rhode Island, was attempting to restrain the student at Meadowridge Academy when she was kicked in the chest just before 7 p.m. The student was allegedly trying to leave a dormitory without permission. Morrell collapsed, and staff members immediately initiated CPR and called 911. Emergency services transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead Thursday afternoon.
