Texas Woman Arrested After 1-Year-Old Nephew Exposed to THC Vape Pen

A 20-year-old woman from Texas, Vianney Alyssa Acosta, faces child endangerment charges after her 1-year-old nephew was exposed to marijuana while in her care.

On May 16, 2025, responders from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office East Montana Patrol responded to a medical emergency involving the young child showing signs of drug exposure. Emergency personnel provided immediate assistance and transported the child to a hospital for evaluation and care.

Investigations revealed that Acosta had left a marijuana vape pen within the child’s reach, leading to the exposure and ingestion. Authorities obtained medical records and secured warrants for her arrest.

On May 21, Acosta was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment. Her bond is set at $6,000.
