Early Sunday morning, rapper Soulja Boy was taken into custody in Los Angeles following the discovery of a firearm during a traffic stop.
According to the LAPD, the 35-year-old, whose legal name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at the intersection of Genesee and Melrose around 2:35 a.m.
A firearm was found inside the vehicle, leading to Soulja Boy’s arrest.
He was detained and booked on suspicion of unlawfully possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
