Texas Target Shooting: Three Killed, Suspect Detained

Three individuals were shot and killed Monday afternoon outside a Target store in Austin, Texas.

According to Police Chief Lisa Davis, officers responded to the scene at 8601 Research Boulevard around 2:15 p.m., arriving within minutes. They discovered three people with gunshot wounds in the parking lot.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third was transported to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries. A fourth person received treatment for injuries unrelated to the shooting.

Authorities reported that the suspect stole a vehicle from the scene, fled, and later crashed it. He then stole another vehicle, which resulted in his arrest in southeast Austin at the 2400 block of La Costa Court.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 32 years old, and is believed to have pre-existing mental health issues.
