A woman is in custody following a fatal shooting outside a PetSmart store in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon.
Dallas police reported that the shooting occurred around 1 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Wheatland.
Preliminary information indicates that the victim, 41-year-old Cecilia Simpson, was shot multiple times by the suspect, 22-year-old Keona Zachyua Hampton for not saying thank you for her holding the door.
Simpson was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.
Hampton fled the scene prior to officers arrival and was later arrested and taken into Dallas County Jail.
According to reports Hampton and Simpson were leaving Five Below when the altercation began. Simpson was with her 20 year old daughter who video recorded the shooting.
Simpson and her daughter got into their vehicle and drove to Pet Smart, which is in the same parking lot. When they got out of their vehicle Hampton walked over to them and they began arguing again before it turned physical. Hampton then pulled out a handgun and fired several rounds at Simpson killing her.
