Virginia Daycare Owner Charged With The Murder Of A Toddler In Her Care

An unlicensed Virginia daycare owner was charged earlier this week for the death of a toddler left in her care.
According to reports officers responded to Jessica Cherry,37 home in August 2020 for an unresponsive child.
Upon arrival officers located Kaylee Thomas,2 unresponsive inside the home.
She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Cherry was arrested in September and charged with felony attempted malicious wounding, two counts of felony abuse and neglect of a child, as well as two counts of felony child endangerment.
During the investigation officers learned that Cherry had a camera inside her home, which was turned toward a TV set and reflected what was going on in the house, including Cherry’s alleged abuse towards multiple children.
Officers also said there was evidence of abuse towards Thomas a week before her death on August 18.
Cherry has also been charged with second degree murder in Thomas’s death
Investigators are now looking into the death of a 1 year old boy that was also found unresponsive in Cherry’s home on January 16,2020.
She has plead not guilty to all accusations and is being held with no bond.
