An 18 year old male was arrested overnight for the fatal shooting of a 16 year old outside of Hurricane Harbor Wednesday.
Arlington police as well as detectives assigned to the United States Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Cameron Lavon Stephens.
He was arrested on the 2700 block of Haverwood Ln at a convenience store.
Officers transported Stephens to Arlington jail where he remains in custody on a murder charge.
According to reports an argument ensued Wednesday when a man sitting in the parking lot asked the group of teens hey, “y’all got beef with 2100 or Famous John?’ No one in the group was familiar with what the unknown male was talking about.”
The suspect then got out of his vehicle saying, he thinks he recognized one of the boys.
That’s when he went back to his vehicle grabbed a handgun and opened fire.
He struck Dai’trell Teal, who was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead.
