Two people are dead and multiple injured following a shooting in Deep Ellum early Sunday morning.
Officers working an area on the 100 block of N. Malcolm X Blvd heard multiple gunshots on the 2800 block of Main St.
Upon arrival they found Lathaniel Peterson,18 holding a weapon.
They ordered him to drop the weapon and fled the scene on foot.
He was shortly captured and arrested.
Authorities began investigating and found one victim Kenneth Walker,18 suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
They also found a 19 year old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he died several hours later.
Four other victims were also injured and treated for non life threatening injuries.
Peterson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear.
This investigation remains ongoing.
This is exactly what the Governor intended whwn he passed the new gun law. He wanted the people to do the work of demolishing their own people. Help even the population control. The fear of being minority and out numbered at the polls is real.
