Second Suspect Named In Desoto SWAT Standoff

Desoto police have named the second man apprehended on Monday, in a SWAT operation, that involved two fugitives. One of then was wanted on a capital murder charge for killing two people in Texarkana.

Kevonte King, 17, had already been named as the murder suspect, from Texarkana, that was arrested on Monday.

The second man has now been named as Jose Hernandez from Desoto, TX. He has warrants from drugs out of Dallas County.

On December 13, 2021, close to 5 pm,  officers received a call about a person bleeding as he was walking down the street. A 17-year-old was then discovered in a front yard in front of an apartment with several gunshot wounds. Then authorities found Deangelo Hardy, 18 and Rikolah Young, 18, suffering from gunshot injuries. Hardy was already dead, and Young died later at a hospital.

The first victim found in the yard was airlifted to a hospital. He suffered extensive wounds but is expected to survive.
