Ricky Martin Accused of Domestic Violence and Incest by His Nephew

Ricky Martin’s nephew has accused him of domestic violence and incest.

On July 1, a restraining order was placed on 50-year-old Ricky Martin after an incident in Puerto Rico. Information regarding the complainant was hidden as a part of the order, however; Ricky Martin’s brother, Eric Martin, identified Dennis Yadiel Sanchez as the accuser. Sanchez is the 21-year-old nephew to Eric and Ricky Martin.

Shortly following Eric’s statement, Sanchez came forward and said his uncle, Ricky Martin, is his alleged assailant.

Sanchez says his uncle, “exercised physical and psychological attacks” against him. A news outlet in Puerto Rico reported that the nephew and uncle were in a relationship with each other that lasted seven months before it ended two months ago.

Puerto Rico has harsher penalties for certain sexual crimes, but it’s unclear exactly what Martin is facing.

Ricky Martin’s attorney, Marty Singer, has denied all allegations. Singer says, “the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges.”

She also went on to say that, “Ricky Martin has, of course, never been – and would never be – involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”
