A 16-year-old student from Frisco High School was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly making threats online.

On Sunday around 2 p.m., the Frisco Police Department received reports of terroristic threats being made online. The threats, which were made against Frisco High School, were posted on an individual’s social media account.

The following day, Frisco Police Officers and School Resource Officers were increased on campus as an extra precaution.

With the assistance of FPD detectives, the social media account was traced back to a 16-year-old student who attends the school.

The juvenile was charged with Terroristic Threat and taken to the Denton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Due to the threat potentially affecting a large number of people in a building, the 16-year-old was given a 3rd Degree Felony in the charge, rather than the usual Misdemeanor. He may face up to ten years in jail if convicted.
