Early Friday morning, an Uber driver, Orozco Figueroa, was carjacked and fatally shot, in Lynwood, California.
Now, authorities are looking for two suspects.
The incident occured right after 1:30 a.m., at a 7-Eleven. The store had just opened the day prior to this.
Authorities say that the Uber driver had two passengers in his vehicle and stopped at a store for reasons that aren’t clear. Then, during the ride, one of the suspects drew a weapon and shot him. A worker in the store then contacted authorities. The victim’s body was later discovered in the parking lot.
One suspect fled away from the scene, and the other one carjacked the victim’s vehicle, following the shooting. That Honda Accord was eventually discovered abandoned in a community close to where the shooting took place.
No information has been released on a description of the offenders, and an investigation is continuing.
Awful.
