Alvarado Police Chief Placed on Paid Administrative Leave

On Wednesday, Brad Anderson, the Alvarado Police Chief, was placed on paid leave pending an investigation.

This is the result of two different execute sessions on July 1 and Wednesday evening.

It has been noted that the matter is not criminal; however, Alvarado city leaders have not disclosed any details.

Mayor Pro-Tem, Lydia Moon, stated that she is sure that the city will continue to function properly.

“We also made the nomination to have Sgt. Tony Simms step in and cover for the chief of police while we’re doing this investigation,” she said.

There is no information on what entity is conducting the investigation. It is also unknown how long the investigation will take place.
