36-year-old Kenneth Birdo, of Arlington, Texas, has been given 40 years in prison for punching and hitting his girlfriends.
A jury in Tarrant County, convicted Birdo of continuous violence against family and strangulation.
On Thursday, he filed court documents for a new trial. He has noted that he is not guilty.
In June, a Tarrant County grand jury indicted Birdo on the two counts. He had been accused of those two assaults within the last year. In November 2021, Birdo is said to have punched and struck his girlfriend with his hands.
On March 20, Birdo is accused of attacking another girlfriend. Documents note that he punched, slapped, grabbed, pushed, pulled, and knocked her to the ground.
Five days after that, authorities say that he strangled that woman.
