Arlington Teen And Mother Found Dead Inside Burning Home, Death Ruled Murder Suicide By Tarrant County Medical Examiners
The death of a 15 year old girl and her mother has been ruled a murder suicide by the Tarrant County Medical Examiners office.
The shooting occurred Thursday evening just before 5:30 p.m. on the 600 block of East Lynn Creek Drive.
Authorities were initially called to the residence in response to a suicidal person. Moments later they received a call regarding a home being on fire.
Firefighters responded to the residence to find a teen girl, later identified as 15 year old Mattie Prescott, who was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As firefighters attempted to extinguish the fire they also found 51 year old Jennifer Prescott, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s not clear if a gun was found inside the home or how many shots were fired. It’s also unclear who called 911.
No further information has been released at this time and Arlington police will update as the story evolves.
