In regards to President Trump’s statement that suggesting that Doctors might be able to cure the Coronavirus by injecting cleaning products like bleach and lysol into their patients lungs, over a dozen calls were made to the New York City Health Department.
Within the time speed of eighteen hours on Friday, New York has had an increase in poison control calls.
Over thirty New Yorkers had taken what the president said directly to heart instead of consulting with their doctors, as the president suggested as well.
President Trump says that his suggestion was merely a joke and was “said sarcastically”. Despite the statement that the president made, health emergency agencies took his comments about the consuming cleaning products and warned the people to not listen to this.
Commissioner Oxris Barbot of New York Health tweeted “To be clear, disinfectants are not intended for ingestion either by mouth, by ears, but breathing them in any way, shape or form. Doing so can put people at great risk.”
