Boxer Patrick Day Dies At 27 After Suffering Brain Injuries In The Ring Over The Weekend

Boxer Patrick Day died Wednesday after receiving brain injuries during a fight in the ring Saturday.
According to reports Patrick Day,27 was in the ring fighting rising star Charles Conwell,21 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago when he received several blows to the head.
He was knocked down 3 times during the fight once in the 4th round another in the 8th round and the final one in the 10th round that caused his head to bounce off the ring.
The referee immediately stopped the fight after the final knockdown and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he suffered from a seizure and then fell into a coma before undergoing brain surgery.
After days of suffering Day succumbed his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Days promoter released a statement saying “He was a son, brother and good friend to many. Pat’s kindness, positivity and generosity of spirit made a lasting impression with everyone he met”.
