Caitlyn Jenner is upset with hammer thrower, Gwen Berry, for her anthem protest. He noted it straight-up “disgusting.”
Wednesday night, on Newsmax TV, Jenner discussed that she can’t fathom Berry turning her back on “The Star Spangled Banner.” Berry had just placed 3rd in the US Olympic track and field trials.
Berry, who has concerns with the social injustices in America, was unhappy with the song and made sure everyone knew it. After turning from the flag, she held up a shirt that read, “Activist Athlete.” She thought officials set her up just to see what she would do.
Jenner called the incident b.s. “I don’t like political statements on the podium. We shouldn’t do that. This is the greatest gathering of people and countries in the world.”
Berry has said that she does not hate her country. She said she just thinks the anthem is “disrespectful” to black Americans.
