Clorox Recalls 37 Million Bottles Of Scented Disinfectant Items Due To Bacteria

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 37 million bottles of scented Pine-Sol have been recalled by Clorox. This is because they may contain bacteria.

There are several Pine-Sol products that were produced from January 2021 through September 2022 that have been recalled. The first one is Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave and Lemon Fresh scents.

Another product is the Clorox Pro Pine-Sol All Purpose Cleaner in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave, Lemon Fresh and Orange Energy scents.

The last one is the Clorox Professional Pine-Sol Lemon Fresh.

The original pine-scented Pine-Sol isn’t a part of the recall.

“The recalled products may contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin,” the CSPC noted.

Clorox urges anyone with the affected products to discard them. This is if their codes have an “A4” and five-digit number less than 22249. The code indicates products produced prior to Sep. 2022.

Customers can submit a refund request from Clorox by providing an image of the bottle’s 12-digit UPC code and date code to Pine-Sol’s refund website.
