An Arkansas county jail guard was fatally shot by a man he was trying to book into custody Wednesday night.
According to reports, 21 year old Jeremiah Story, a guard at the Perry County jail, was trying to book Roderick Lewis, 37, into custody when he was shot.
Lewis was arrested earlier that day on drug and paraphernalia charges. While changing out of street clothes into jail attire he shot Story.
A witness heard the gunfire and was able to disarm Lewis.
