A couple is facing murder charges after they fatally beat a man for cutting them in a line at a South Dallas convenience store last Monday.
The incident took place on January 18 at Big Daddy’s convenience store on the 4100 block of Colonial Avenue.
According to the arrest affidavit Willie Jorden,60 ignored a line inside the convenience store and walked right up to the counter. A woman became upset causing her and Jorden to her into an argument. She then left the line walked outside to a Mitsubishi SUV that was outside, a man then stepped out the vehicle as the woman went back inside.
As Jorden walked outside the woman also walked out and began punching the man.
The man that stepped out the vehicle also began punching the man in his face.
Jorden then fell face first onto the ground and did not move.
When authorities arrived to the scene the couple had already fled.
Jorden had blood pouring out of his head and was rushed to an area hospital where he died Friday morning from his injuries.
After investigating officers learned Devetta Renee Jackson,41, and Courtney Deon Martin,35 were responsible for the fatal beating.
Both were arrested Wednesday January 20 and charged with murder and given a $250,000 bond each.
