COVID-19 Booster Shot To Be Available In September

8 months after being fully vaccinated, Americans will be able to receive a COVID-19 booster shot. It will only be available for those who have had the Pfizer or Moderna shot.

The Biden Administration says that the third round will be ready starting September 20. An approval from the FDA is expected soon.

The first priority will be for those who got their vaccine first. This includes healthcare workers, nursing home residents, and other senior citizens. Additionally, the administration will send the vaccines to people living in long-term care locations.

Although the Delta variant is comprised of 98.8% of COVID cases, officials insist that the vaccine has reduced the number of hospitalizations and deaths.

Experts know that individuals with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will need a third shot, as well. However, data is still being analyzed because that vaccine had not been distributed as early as the other two.
