Dallas ISD Will Require Clear or Mesh See-Through Backpacks For Students

1.8kviews

Dallas Independent School District announced on Monday that it would require students in grades 6th – 12th to use backpacks that are see-through.

The backpacks must be clear or mesh that is easily seen through, however students are able to have a non-clear pouch, no larger than 5.5 inches by 8.5 inches, to hold personal items like; cellphones, money, and hygiene products. The pouches must be kept in their clear backpacks.

With the rising issues regarding school safety, many districts are making changes to their dress code, safety protocols, and campus procedures.

DISD says they’re hopeful this new requirement will aid in the safety of its students and staff.
