On Monday morning, a man shot his father in Paris, Texas. That man has now been arrested.
Authorities say that Magic Kyjuan McCarty, an 18-year-old from Dallas, shot his father in the leg.
Police arrived to the 600 block of SW 1st Street, close to 11:45 a.m. There, a 42-year-old man was found on the front porch. Witnesses stated that a dispute had taken place prior to the shooting.
The victim was transported to a medical facility with non-life threatening wounds and was released.
McCarty was captured after fleeing to Paris, Texas and was found with a gun in his possession.
He has been charged with aggravated assault of a family member with a deadly weapon.
McCarty will soon be transported to the Lamar County Jail.
