A Dallas police officer was arrested on family violence charges Thursday.
As a result, Sr. Cpl. Carlos Almeida was charged with family violence assault/ strangulation by the Anna Police Department.
He is currently being held in Collin County Jail and has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
Almeida has been with DPD since 2012.
