A Dallas tax preparer was sentenced to three and a half years in jail and a $11.9 fine in restitution fees for filing fraudulent tax returns Friday.
According to reports Alma Gilbert Jean,54 pleaded guilty to aiding and assisting in the preparation of a materially false tax return in October 2019.
Gilbert owned and operated In Touch Tax Solutions, located in North Dallas and recently opened an office in Mesquite.
Between 2012 and 2017 Gilbert allegedly prepared and filed hundreds of fraudulent tax returns for clients.
The fraudulent returns contained information such as false education credits, fuel tax credits, and business losses for the purpose of increasing the refunds to the clients.
