Jacqueline Hernandez was 6 years-old when she was abducted and taken away from her relatives in 2007.
Now, 14 years later, she has been reconnected with her family.
The now, 19 year-old, got in touch with her mother, Angelica Vences-Salgado, through the internet.
She stated that she was in Mexico and wanted her mother to come see her at the Point of Entry at the border in Texas.
Because the mother didn’t know if this was all valid, she contacted law enforcement for assistance. They confirmed that the claims were true.
The mother and daughter embraced after not seeing each other in all of these years.
“In this case, several agencies in different counties and states across the nation were able to create a force multiplier. They aided in reuniting the victim with her mother after 14 years,” stated Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway.
