Driver Arrested In Connection To Triple Murder in Garland

The driver involved in the triple Garland murder has turned himself into Garland police.

Richard Acosta Jr.,33 was driving the white Dodge Ram that the 14 year old suspected shooter was seen getting out of at Texaco.

Acosta has been charged with capital murder of multiple persons. His bond is set at $1,000,000.

During the course of the investigation officers have spoken with the 14 year old that was initially arrested for the murders. He is being very cooperative with police and has since been released to his parents.

Authorities have gained new information and the 14 year old is not being charged with the murders at this time. Police believe the teen has very intimate details regarding the shooting.

This shooting appears to be in retaliation from a previous incident. The shooting appears to be a targeted attack on one or more of the individuals inside the store.

Garland police are still investigating and gathering more evidence that will positively identify the shooter.

No further details have been released at this time.
