Early Morning Shooting In Deep Ellum Leaves Two Men Dead

Dallas police are investigating after an early morning shooting left two men dead and three others injured.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 2:00 a.m. on the 2800 block of Elm Street in Deep Ellum.

Upon arrival they found five men suffering from gunshot wounds. All men were transported to an area hospital where two of them succumbed to their injuries.

According to reports an altercation occurred after two men approached a man standing on the sidewalk. At that time it was said that members from both parties pulled out guns and began shooting.

Of the five shot two men were bystanders caught in the crossfire.

Authorities retrieved weapons at the scene and two people were taken into custody.

The two males that passed away were identified as Jermaine Lewis, 42 and Quintin Lowe, 31.

Although the investigation is ongoing authorities believe all parties involved have been identified and there is no phlox threat.
