Elon Musk’s Brain-Chip Testing Has Been Approved By The FDA

Initial testing of Elon Musk’s brain-chip has been given an approval by the US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

Musk’s Neuralink implant business aims to assist in restoring sight and mobility to individuals by connecting brains to computers. This will be done by utilizing microchips to improve the conditions like of paralysis and blindness. Additionally, it will allow some disabled individuals to use computers and other technological devices.

The chips have already been tested on monkeys and can break down signals, communicated by the brain. It can then send those signals to devices through a Bluetooth.

However, experts have noted that Neuralink’s brain implant will have to undergo much more testing to solve problems related to technical and ethical issues if they are to be used on a large scale.

The FDA’s approval of this initial testing comes after researchers in Switzerland used brain implants on a patient.

A man who was paralyzed gained his walking abilities by just thinking about it. This was due to implants that wirelessly sent sigmals from his thoughts to his legs and feet.

The Neuralink company has stated that more information is coming in relation to how trial participants can sign up for the brain-chip testing.
