On Wednesday, ex-Florida State University football player Travis Rudolph was found not guilty of murder.

27-year-old Rudolph had been facing charges of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. This was in connection to a shooting and killing outside of his residence in Lake Park, Florida, over two years ago.

Rudolph’s lawyers had said that Rudolph was attacked by four men at his home after a dispute involving his supposed girlfriend on April 7, 2021.

Prosecutors had claimed that Rudolph was the attacker and had taken out a gun during a fist fight. The dispute resulted in the death of Sébastien Jean-Jacques and left another person wounded.

During the trial, jurors heard testimony regarding every bullet impact that was made, and they heard 911 calls that the victims placed.

Rudolph consistently stated that his actions were in self-defense after observing two guns pointed in his direction.

Now that he has been found not guilty, Rudolph’s house arrest monitor will be removed.
