Ex Minneapolis Police Officer Sentenced To 22.5 Years In Prison For George Floyd Murder

3.5kviews

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison for the death of George Floyd.
Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill handed down the sentence in a Minneapolis courtroom Friday afternoon.
George Floyd was killed on May 25,2020 during an arrest.
Chauvin held his knee on Floyd’s neck for 9 1/2 minutes because Floyd allegedly tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill.
He was also convicted of second and third degree murder as well as second degree manslaughter.
Judge Peter Cahill gave Chauvin a stronger punishment than recommended by sentencing guidelines after finding four aggravating factors in his crimes.
Three other ex-police officers, who stood by as Chauvin killed Floyd, are awaiting trial on related Minnesota state charges next March.
Chauvin has 199 days of credit already served. He is also prohibited from possessing any firearms, ammunition, or explosives for the rest of his life. Chauvin will also be required by law as a predatory offender.

  1. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Firefox.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do
with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you
know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Many thanks

  2. of course like your website but you have to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of
your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems
and I find it very bothersome to inform the
reality however I’ll certainly come back again.

Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end?

I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.
