Fate Crossing Guard Fatally Struck In School Zone By Vehicle

A Fate crossing guard was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday morning in a school zone.
The incident happened around 7:30am in a Royse City ISD school zone on Miss May Dr.
The driver of the vehicle encountered a medical emergency while driving and crossed into the school zone.
Emergency crews arrived on the scene and transported Melissa Williams to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Rockwall County Sheriff’s Department’s Accident Reconstruction Specialist Team is investigating the crash.
Mrs. Williams has been with Royse City ISD for 14 years.
