Father Arrested For Punching Umpire During Son’s High School Baseball Game

41-year-old Jorge Aponte Gonzalez, a father from Florida, is being charged after he was accused of punching an umpire during his son’s high school baseball game.

The incident occurred on April 18 during the game at Liberty High School in Kissimmee, authorities in Osceola County noted.

Arrest documents state that a 63-year-old umpire, who is also a disabled veteran, got into a disagreement with Gonzalez’s son. His father then approached the umpire and punched him, knocking him out.

Gonzalez was apprehended on Wednesday and charged with battery on a sports official and disruption of a school function.
