A father was shot in the head in a Washington community while driving around attempting to get his children to fall asleep.

Early Wednesday morning, 23 year-old Issac Spiekerman allegedly fired at him.

Spiekerman stated the man drove around several times and stopped to take a picture of his friend’s vehicle.

When the friend began to ask the man questions, Spiekerman said that the father struck him in the face. He also said he threatened the friend with a firearm.

Spiekerman said defending his friend, he shot at the father’s vehicle. Two children were in the backseat at the time.

Eventually, Spiekerman did admit that the pair never saw the father with a weapon, and he never got out of his car.

When police arrived, the dad had a gunshot wound to his forehead, and bullet holes were evident in two windows. Later, he was listed in good condition.

Spiekerman remains in custody and faces three assault charges.
