Several fathers in Shreveport, Louisiana, have decided to do something about the negative tone in their children’s schools.

“Dads on Duty” was started after huge fights broke out at Southwood High School and over 24 people were apprehended.

At 8am, the dads begin by helping students as they go into the school and provide them with positive affirmations. They also ensure that students are getting to class in a timely manner and are looking and feeling their greatest.

“We just kind of walk around and give good energy and speak to the kids,” one dad said.

The group started with five members, and now it has increased to dozens of fathers.

“You know it makes a difference when kids know there are parents on campus. We just made the initiative to come and just walk around,” another dad stated.

They have reiterated that they are not their for security purposes but to make a positive difference.
